Wednesday 3rd October 2007Hey people. Sorry for not updating all these while. Been quite busy recently. Hmm. Work last week was boring. This time round we switched roles and were trained as the supervisor and hence I had to follow my supervisor (my mentor) all day. And once again the job is not as easy as it seems. There's a total of over 100 rooms (imagine slamming 100 doors per day!) to be check in 8 hours and due to the stringent supervision from the top management, we need to wipe every corner of the room when the staff did not clean properly -_- Moreover, my supervisor always took a longer time to supervise the rooms as compared to the others. Hence as compared to my other 7 beijing mates, I’m always the one who off work the latest. Sians.
Anyway training had ended and we are left only a week in the housekeeping department. Most probably we will be at the office, laundry department or fitness centre for our last week. And I’ve a good news! This week is China’s Golden Week and the us, the Singapore interns managed to get a whole week off! Hah. Finally go shopping again or to sightseeing places. Initially wanted to visit Inner Mongolia as one of our China friend is going back to her hometown. But we din manage to get the tickets =( made the bookings for the train tickets too late. We are all quite disappointed over it. Sads. And I shall update on how we spend the golden week soon :)
Anyway my Mid-autumn Festival celebration. I celebrated the day by having Korean bbq, the Korean Traditional Rice, Rice Flour Cake for dinner after work. And we were given free mooncakes from Gloria’s Hotel. China's mooncakes are abit too sweet and they don't have the snowskin mooncakes here. so kinda miss Singapore mooncakes. So how did u all spend the festivals? Managed to meet up? Hope internship is fine for all of u. Do perservre and update about your work k! Beeyan, though u need to wake up so early each day but your work sounds interesting man. So till now, how many handsome guys have u seen? Haha. And as for SK, yea work is tough and I can sense that your source of motivation is morning breakfast, lunch break and after work dinner. In short, its food! Ha. Dajie! Yeaps managed to talk to u awhile on msn the other day and I’m glad that ur doing fine. Its good to know that u enjoyed your work at the golf club and ur learning to make different kinds of desserts and sandwiches. Do remember how to make them k so I wana taste them when I’m back! Erjie! How’s ur work at Ritz Carlton department? Still in housekeeping department? U must be feeling super-tired after each day work .especially when ur in housekeeping departments. Making beds are tough but interesting. Hee. Next time u can make nice beds at home ;-) Jeanie, how’s marketing? Your familization trip to sentosa and night safari sounds interesting. Any more places of attractions u went as well? Don’t get too stressed out by marketing k. My dear Jas, Jan, Ade, Huimin, Peifen where have ur gone? UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE pls! I curious to know how have u all been, I’m sure that u guys have lots of interesting stories to tell.
And I discovered a webbie that’s good for viewing Chinese shows. Its
http://www.tudou.com/. U guys can go there to watch variety shows, idol shows. There have a wide variety there and I personally feel it’s very organized as compared to youtube.
Ps: I lost my China ez-link card today! Been so careless recently. I considered quite lucky arh. As its better than losing my wallet or handphone. =X (Haa, I sure know how to console myself. lols)
